MASCHERONI SICILIANI was a project for selected Sabadì products (award-winning company that produces chocolate from Modica) to design packaging.
The package shows a polished and smooth surface (like Sabadì's chocolate, the result of innovative production techniques) yet in the small details the raw paperboard shows through, symbolising the honesty and purity of the raw material.
The illustations depict Modica's people, resilient protagonists of the stories of this tormented place, and have strong contrasting colours, reminiscent of the cultural differences that you can find in the Sicilian land. Last but not least, Sabadì's products are visible because the quality needed to be shown.
